Natural resources are not endless, therefore awareness is needed for using natural resources. Think green means to be careful about using natural resources as well as keeping the environment green.

This is why we have brought to 3 R's Concept to our “Go Green” initiative.

• Reduce
  • Lessen the cost:
    Before buying or using any product we should first think about the importance of using the product to reduce ad lib use of the resources we have.
  • Reduce misuse: There are tons of way of reducing the misuse. Some of the ways are as following-
    • Before printing and photocopying first think the importance of printing or photocopying the document.
    • If any urgent information needs to be edited better do it in the com puter, don’t waste paper.
    • Send an e-mail instead of writing letters on a paper.
    • Store important information on mobile, computer or CD or pen drive rather on paper.
    • If you need to print anything, use both sides of the paper.
  • Reduce misuse of power: the ways of reducing the misuse of power are as following
    • If you have no urgency, keep off the lights and fan and other electrical components.
    • Try to work in the natural light of the sun during daytime.
    • Use cold water to wash clothes.
    • If the AC or the heater is on, shut down the doors and windows of your room.
    • Buy electricity-saving products when buying electric lamps or other electrical components.
• Reuse
  Anything and everything can be reused if we show our desires. For example-
  • The letter envelope can be reused using the new address instead of the older ones.
  • Keep the unused or unnecessary paper in one place so that it can be used to do the rough works and in test printing.
• Recycle
  Before buying anything, do not do any work after using it.
  • Do not use wrappings when giving gifts, use gift bags instead. Lovely wrapping can be used only once but bags can be used multiple times. Remember, every ton recycled paper saves at least 17 trees.

Thinking without implementing doesn’t won’t help succeed the "Go Green" plan. Alone one can bring great success too. Some of the initiatives can be-

1. Reporting about the benefits of "Go Green" to at least one person: Report about the benefits of at least one of your friends, relatives, neighbors, colleagues and request him to inform anyone he knows.
2. Participate in the "Go Green Ambassadors Program": The goal of "Go Green Ambassadors Program" is to deliver messages to as many people as possible. They want to warn people about the use of these natural resources and to inform about the benefits of "Go Green".
3. Spread Your "Green Success Story": Spread your success story through various social networks. Who knows, your success story might become someone’s encouragement.
4. There are several websites on “Go Green” from where you could learn a lot about

Our daily eating habits play a significant role on the environment.

• Keep fruits, vegetables and grains to your food chart every day. These are healthy and readily available in nature.
• Eat according to your need and not more than that.
• Use plates, glasses and spoons that can be used multiple times.
• Try to avoid taking foods home that needs more packaging.

After eating and drinking, shopping has the second most impact on the environment.

• Before buying new equipment, it is really necessary to assess the necessity of the item.
• Purchase items that can be used for a long time. Buying items for a short period item.
• Purchase items that can be used for a long time. Buying items for a short period of time isn’t ideal to buy as it facilitates the percentage of wastage.

• Buy environment friendly products.

After eating and drinking, shopping has the second most impact on the environment.

• Building destroys the nature. So when making the house, everyone need to keep the matter of environment in mind as much as possible.
• Not all the works end after finishing the construction of a building. People start to live there and need natural resources such as wind, water, electricity etc. for their survival. It means, the house is rich in facilities that are vital for a person's survival and are environment-friendly.
• Building a house not just disrupts the surrounding people but also the natural environment. So, it should be kept in mind that it will last long.
• Another purpose is that the one should not use toxic materials while making the house so that everyone remains safe.

The members of "Go Green" completes their programs in the slogan- "Together we can make a difference". Basically, different companies, NGOs, educational institutions and organizations are its core members. In addition to the activities of "Go Green", members of the organization share their corporate retention capacity and social responsibility to the people of the world.

Many countries in the present world have expressed their solidarity with this environmental thought. Bangladesh is no longer backward in this field. Crown Cement, a brand of M.I. Cement Factory Ltd. has also welcomed this thought. As a result, "Go Green" has stepped on to the Crown Cement office.

• Whenever an officer/employee goes from his own room, it is mandatory to shut down his laptop/desktop, air conditioner, lights. If an officer is out of the room without turning off the computer/air conditioner/lights in his work, a written show-cause notice is sent to him.
• Emergency information are encouraged to be kept on computers instead of papers.
• Consolidate the accounts of the office or the bill into computers and reduce the use of paper as much as possible.
• Saving the schedule and necessary activities on the phone and not in papers.
• To keep the environment balanced, often trees are planted in the premises of the Crown Cement office.
• Prevent misuse of water.
• Encouraging to use both sides of the paper.
• As it is not possible to recycle plastic bags in the office, paper bags are used

The emergence of global warming and various environmental problems has made Crown Cement Company to think more about the benefits of "Go Green". So the firm is determined to provide a wealthy future for the next generation.
